Big, Bad & Ugly Photos
To all contestants of Estero Bay Surf Club' "Big, Bad, and Ugly" contest, Feb. 17th:
Photos of nearly every contestant are up on www.esterobaysurfclub.com. There are A LOT of photos, some sequential, taken by Mike Rumble. Some pictures are not for the faint of heart. Look at it this way; nobody broke a board this year... we think.
We hope you all enjoyed the contest and the pictures.

FOUR COALITION CLUBS INVITED TO RINCON
The Doheny Longboard Surfing Association, Sunset Cliffs Surfing Association, San Diego Surf Ladies and the Pacific Beach Surf Club have all been honored by being chosen to surf in the Groundswell Society's "Sharing the Stoke" Team surfing at Rincon, March 29th and 30th. It will be a community-based event that will bring together those surfers and organizations from up and down the coast for a weekend of sharing waves at one of the world's best surf spots. The event will involve literally hundreds of participants as part of the Society's efforts to promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere throughout the surfing community. Sixteen organizations that have made significant efforts to "share the stoke" of surfing with tomorrow's surfers will be the invited guests of the Society and the Rincon surfing community. And each team will get the famed wave to themselves for an hour as part of the event's activities in recognition of the good work they've done. For more information, visit the Groundswell Society's website.

Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz
Rules, roster, directions and info on places to stay are attached!
The first 96 paid contestants by March 15th are surfin! What makes our contest fun and unique?
• you will surf at least twice on Saturday, we don't do single elimination on Aloha Day!
• pull out your old board and don't you dare attach a cord. Only boards built before 1970 and weighing more than 20lbs can be ridden
• all NEW for this year, we have an all new Aloha Team Heat, where drop-ins are required! That's right, there must be two surfers and two boards riding the wave and do it with style!
• as always, there's the Saturday night party to find out how you surfed that day and who advances to Sunday's semi's and what the divisions are.
• we don't follow coalition age divisions. If all 96 paid entrants are aged 50-59, then we'll split them up into manageable divisions of 16 surfers each. But the more age diverse teams will do better in the team standings.
We prefer that you email your roster (contests@bigsticksurfing.org), but you can also mail your roster and PAYMENT to:
